Many baby-name pages put hundreds of names into one giant list. We wanted something easier to explore. Here you can start with the language people actually use, such as unique, pretty, cool, short, vintage, nature, gothic or celestial, then move into current U.S. popularity data if rarity matters to you.
Why Posy?
We wanted a mascot that felt rare, warm and memorable without reusing characters from our other websites. A red panda was a natural fit, and Posy gave her a cheerful alliterative name with a floral, vintage feel.

RareGirlNames.com is about discovering names for a baby or a future shortlist. HowRareIsYourName.com has a different job: looking up the rarity of a name you already have in mind. We keep those purposes separate so each site can answer a different question well.
How we handle data
When a page makes a measurable popularity claim, we identify the year and use U.S. Social Security Administration baby-name rankings as the primary source. Editorial style lists do not pretend to be statistical rankings.
